There are currently 65 to choose from and the best one depends on what you are looking for, on that particular parkrunday. A fast course for a PB? Scenic views? Hills? History? A muddy cross country course? A unique London urban venue?

I have completed LonDone and have run all 65 London parkrun venues. I will try to give you recommendations that combine the objective data I have collected with my experience. The experience of an eminently average runner who loves exploring different parkrun events.

1.What are the parkrun LonDone rankings?

I have completed LonDone, running all currently active 65 London parkruns. While visiting all those events, I have collected data that is now available on my parkrun LonDone and on my parkrun LonDone stats pages. With all those available stats, I have decided to create some rankings to help people visiting London for a short while or starting to chase the same achievement.

2. What is the ‘Best parkrun in London?

All 65 of them. This is why picking a target can be so difficult. All events have something special setting them apart and making them worth a visit. What I am trying to do here is providing some subjective rankings across a number of criteria. What you are looking for from your parkrunday will affect which event will be the best match. And my personal rankings give you a real life opinion from the perspective of an average runner, not a sub-20 elite speed monster.

3. How are London parkruns ranked?

The ranking I have and will be published are meant to be decision support tools specific to a defined features of London parkruns. The data I have collected is the first step, but then I always overlay my own personal impressions. The fastest parkruns in London for me might not be the one statistically identified by Power of 10. Because I am an average runner and because my experience was also influenced by how I felt on the parkrunday of my visit.

4. What is LonDone?

LonDone is one of many parkrun challenges. You achieve LonDone when you have visited all active parkruns in Greater London. As of 2026, there are 65 active parkruns in London, after the addition of Greenwich Peninsula and the sad cancellation of Victoria Dock. It is a moving target and I will aim to keep these pages up to date. You don’t need to aim at doing all events though: get started and see if you catch the bug! That’s how it went for me, when I started visiting events around my local Wimbledon Common I thought I would never finish it.

5. What data did you use for your LonDone rankings?

The objective data is what I have collected with my Garmin while personally visiting every single parkrun in London. Then I am overlaying my subjective judgements and feelings, because data is only half of the story. Unless you are elite, course features, weather and personal conditions will impact your experience as much as hard data. And hopefully subjective views will also help you in choosing the odd parkrun to visit while in town.

6. Are these rankings objective

Of course not! Or at least, not fully. They are influenced and shaped by my own personal experience, so I would be very happy to get feedback and thoughts. I will take any views in consideration and we might have an interesting debate.

7. Which London parkrun should I do as a visitor/tourist?

It depends on what you are looking for! The obvious candidate is Bushy for your parkrun pilgrimage to the Home of parkrun. But that is only one candidate and it is quite far out from the centre. A lot of London events can give you memorable experiences, it depends on what you are looking for. This series aims at shortening the list of alternatives depending on what you want.
