About me

I started running in 2019, trying C25K for the second time and joining my first parkrun.

This time it worked and I started enjoying something I thought I would always hate. It progressed into parkrun, with my first painful but rewarding experience in Wimbledon Common during spring that year, and a first ‘official’ 5K in Richmond Park a few weeks later. Now, I like writing about my parkrun adventures and how to make parkrun even more engaging with parkrun challenges and the help of the parkrun apps that are available. I also find running with data motivating and rewarding, so I tend to use a number of training analytics and planning tools that allow me to see consistency in training rewarded by metrics development. At least that was the case until recently, but training is an up and down process.

The story after that is not unusual. 10K, then the first Half Marathon again in Richmond Park (hills, I hate you!) in late Autumn, followed one year later by my first amazing, painful, emotional, fun Marathon in Manchester. Then I got the World Majors bug, that brought me to Berlin in 2022 and in London in 2023.

It is not all about parkrun, but parkrun is a constant baseline that links all my other running adventures.

I live in London and travel a lot for business… but the running trips are more fun 🙂
